After School Clubs – Spring 1 Half Term
Mon 12 Dec 2022Dear Parents and Carers,
Please find attached the clubs we are offering at Lessness Heath for the Spring 1 half term, including dates, times, and costs (if any – some are free!)
Please note that some clubs are only being offered to specific age ranges/year groups.
Please pay close attention to the ‘How to sign up’ section of the table on the next page as this does vary depending on whether or not the club has a cost or is run by an outside provider. For Lessness internal clubs, simply click on the link and complete the form.
We will operate on a first come first serve basis and children who do not receive a place will be placed on a waiting list.
If your child attended one of our continuing clubs from the last half term, please apply again so we know that your child intends to continue with their place.
All sign-ups must be completed by Monday 2nd January, please.
Yours sincerely,
Mr. R. Jackson
Assistant Headteacher

Monday 12th December 2022 - School is open. Please take care on untreated surfaces.
Mon 12 Dec 2022Dear Parents / Carers,
My Site manager has carried out a Risk Assessment of the site today and I can confirm that the school will be open. However, there will be a few changes to our normal day:
- Only the front gate of the school will be open, not the back. There will be a clear path created so that all children can enter the school safely.
- Children will not be going out at playtime or lunchtime.
- If you chose to send your child to school - they will not be playing outside in the snow. Please prepare them for this before you bring them in!
If parents choose to keep their children at home today, I will of course authorise this absence - just make sure you contact the office to let us know. How often do we get snow like this for the children to play in? I’m therefore more than happy for you to keep them at home and let them enjoy the snow! Although we will do all we can to make the site as safe as possible please be careful on your way to us if you do decide to bring your children in.
Stay safe,
Miss Bolton

Inclusion Survey
Tue 08 Nov 2022Dear Parents and Carers,
You have been sent this information on behalf of Creative Solutions Psychology, we are Educational Psychologists working with Primary First Trust and several of their associated schools to review various topics around learning and inclusion. This is with the view of continuing to understand ways in which learning and inclusion can be supported at an academy and school level. As part of our ongoing work across the academy, we want to hear your views.
We have developed a survey for Parents and Carers to complete by 21st November 2022, which the school are kindly sharing the details of below. The survey takes no longer than 15 minutes, it is anonymous and the information will only be used for our involvement. It should be possible to complete this survey using a computer or smartphone with an internet connection. If you have any issues accessing this survey please do speak to a member of staff at your school reception. Many thanks for your time, each response is valuable in our understanding of your views.

School Day Timings for Spring 2022
Mon 31 Oct 2022Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope you all had an enjoyable half term break. I cannot believe how quicky that week off seems to fly by!
During the COVID pandemic, we had to make several changes to the start and finish times of our school day. This was to enable us to trickle the children in and out of school in the safest way possible.
However we are now thankfully in a position whereby we can resume normality. In light of this, we are making some slight changes to the school day to be back in line with expectations.
Please note these changes will not be put in place until the start of the Spring Term, in January 2023.
Nursery – 8.50am – 3.20pm (Wednesday 8.50am – 10.50am / 1.20pm – 3.20 pm)
Reception – 8.50am – 3.10pm
Year 1 – 8.50am – 3.15pm
Year 2 – 8.50am – 3.15pm
Year 3 – 8.50am – 3.20pm
Year 4 – 8.50am – 3.20pm
Year 5 – 8.50am – 3.20pm
Year 6 – 8.50am – 3.20pm
Any children arriving in school after 9.00am will receive a late mark. Doors will open at 8.50am and will close at 9.00am which gives you plenty of time if you need to make your way to the back playground to drop off EYFS children following children being dropped into the front of the school.
Reception children finish at the slightly earlier time of 3.10pm to allow you time to come round to the front playground it needed. Nursery finish at the slightly earlier time of 3.20pm to allow you time to collect from the front playground first.
Please note that Reception and Nursery children will still be dropped and collected from the back playground and Key Stage 1 and 2 from the front playground.
Yours Sincerely,
Miss Bolton
Headteacher
