Chair of Governors – Mrs. Linda Thomas
My name is Linda Thomas and have been a governor at Lessness Heath since 2015 and have been Chair of Governors since March 2018. I am a retired primary teacher who taught for twenty five years as a classroom teacher and as a senior leader within various schools in both Greenwich and Bexley. I have lived in the borough for most of my life, so I am very familiar with the local area. I am married with two grown up children and two grandchildren and in my spare time I like to travelling, sailing and sing in a local choir.
Vice Chair of Governors – Ms Lauren Price
I am a Primary First Trust appointed governor and am a parent of two children who attend Lessness Heath.
I have previously worked as a primary school teacher before working in teacher training as a lead teacher and advisory teacher. I am currently working as a family learning tutor for a local college.
As a governor I am chair of the Teaching and Learning and Standards Committee. I have been pleased to be involved in the school during the progress Lessness Heath has made over the last year.
Outside of being a governor I enjoy spending time with my family in the local parks and at music events in London.
Jackie Piller – School Governor
Appointed as a governor by the Primary First Trust, I am a qualified Management Accountant currently working in a Transformation and Change environment for a Financial Services Institution.
I am passionate about learning and I’m a learning champion within my organisation, so my appointment as a governor at Lessness Heath enables me to gain a different perspective of the Education system outside of the corporate environment.
My interests are travelling, reading and various craft activities, but most importantly, learning.
Austina (Michelle) McAllister-Yates – School Governor
I am appointed as a governor by the Primary First Trust. I am a qualified Social Worker and am interested in the general wellbeing and development of our children. I have over 20 years experience of working with Children and Families in various settings such as Fostering, Adoption, Safeguarding, Children with Disabilities to name a few areas.
I see myself as being able to draw upon my experience and knowledge in my role as a governor at Lessness Heath and look forward to being part of the diverse school governor team.
My hobbies include travelling, reading (am part of a Book Club), going to the theatre, cinema, listening to music and socializing with my friends and family. More importantly I enjoy learning/education and developing a better understanding of people.
Jennifer Long – School Governor
My name is Jennifer Long and I was recently appointed school governor for Lessness Heath. I have been a teacher for four years and was lucky enough to start my teaching career here. I currently work in Year Three and in addition to this work as Maths Lead for the school. I have seen the school grow from strength to strength over the years and I am looking forward to bringing my passion for teaching and learning to the governing body.
Outside of being a teacher, I enjoy spending my time with family and friends, having fun days with my nephew and nieces. I enjoy running, meeting new people and experiencing new cultures.
Rajinvir Guraya Sandher – School Governor
I have recently been appointed in the role of staff Governor by the staff at Lessness Heath primary school.
I am a parent of 4 children 2 of whom have completed their journey at Lessness and the other 2 are still progressing through. I am also a staff member of the school and have been for over 10 years now and have held various roles within my time at the school.
I am very much looking forward to the to working closely not only with the governing board but the local community too, in providing better prospects for everyone within our school community.
